The event has been organised by the Bishop’s Council for Catechesis. Catechists, Ministers of the Word, or anyone who is interested in finding out more about their Catholic faith and the importance of Scripture is more than welcome to attend. Rite of election The Rite of Election for people joing the church at Easter in 2012 will be held at the cathedral on the first Sunday of Lent. Please pray for them. Catholic Parliamentary & Public Policy Internships For the last nine years the Catholics Bishops Conference has organised Parliamentary and Public Policy Internships for recently graduated Catholics. This year on offer are 8 internships: Five interns will be placed with Christian MPs at Westminster; two in Public Policy with CAFOD and CARITAS Social Action Network; and one in a media internship at Archbishop’s House Westminster. All internships will run from September 2012 - July 2013 and include accommodation and subsistence allowances. Stations of the Cross During Lent there will be Stations of the Cross every Friday at 7.30 pm. Hog Roast - 15th April 2012 Following the 10.15 Mass on Sunday 15th April there will be a Hog Roast in the grounds of the church. St Anthony’s Fete - Saturday 16th June 2012 Plans are under way for our 3rd Summer Fete here at St Anthony's on 16th June. We will be asking you for donations for our parish stalls of... books, bottles, bric-a-brac, old crockery (chipped is fine), unwanted gifts, toys & cakes. There is the opportunity for anyone with a stall to book their place at the fete (fees apply). Does anyone have a popcorn making machine or a candy floss machine we could borrow? The course will be led by members of the Diocesan Liturgy Commission: Mgr Kevin McGinnell and Alex Heath. The topics include The Scriptures, What is Lectionary & Proclaiming the Word of God. Student Cross Student Cross is a pilgrimage organised by and for students, young adults, and pilgrims of all ages, which has been running since 1948. Pilgrims experience Holy Week and the joy of the Resurrection as a living reality. It's a chance to celebrate Easter in a unique way. Ten different groups, known as Legs, walk from different parts of the country across Norfolk to Walsingham. Kind-hearted parishes provide food and accommodation along the way. Each Leg carries a large wooden cross as a witness to the people they pass The climax of the week is in Walsingham, a centre of pilgrimage for many centuries. This is where all the Legs meet up to celebrate the Easter liturgies together over the Easter weekend, including a vibrant Paschal Party after the Easter vigil on Saturday evening. Big Church Day Out Forget Glastonbury. The Big Church day out is a music festival featuring the best Christian musicians and worship leaders from around the world appearing on multiple stages throughout the weekend.
